Delivery is offered free of charge to all mainland UK areas. If you are unsure, or you are outside of mainland UK please contact us and we will provide a quotation for you. In the case of delivery to some locations additional congestion charges may be applicable.

As each cabin is built to your personal specification, they are made to order. Delivery time is generally 6-8 weeks, although may be longer during busy periods and at times of bad weather. If we expect a delay on your order we will endeavour to contact you as soon as possible.

When a delivery date is confirmed it should be treated as an all day appointment. We will try to be flexible with delivery dates and times; however we cannot provide a definite delivery time. As the delivery date becomes closer we may be able to provide you with an AM or PM appointment, we will not be held responsible if the delivery is not completed within the allocated time as all delivery times are estimates. We do endeavour to contact customers prior to delivery to provide an estimated time, the times specified are as accurate as possible but we cannot allow for delays due to the delivery schedule, traffic, bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

You will need to be present at the time of delivery to inspect and sign for the goods. We are able to deliver to an agent on your behalf. If we are making delivery to a neighbour, friend, family member or agent we must receive confirmation from you in writing prior to the delivery date.

Delivery is made by a HI-AB crane lift lorry. Please consider access before placing your order, as failure to gain access to the delivery site will result in the driver returning to our depot and charges may apply for re-delivery. Generally if a refuse disposal lorry is able to gain access our driver will have no problems. If you are in any doubt that access may be restricted please contact us to discuss this, we may be able to arrange for a smaller delivery vehicle.

Extreme care is taken when packing the goods for transit; even the smallest cabin components are packed carefully to ensure that they cannot fall from the bundles and get lost. Every cabin is packaged in bundles, the number and size of the bundles will depend on the size of your cabin. Bundles are constructed with floor joists and foundation beams on the top and protection boards are applied to the ends and base, this prevents rubbing during transit. Packages are then safely wrapped in plastic and strapped securely to a pallet; ensuring that the goods are not damaged when transported by forklift. Many cabin companies will ship their products without a pallet to reduce shipping costs. No pallet means logs are piled on package beaters; this method is cheaper but does not provide any protection from the fork lifts forks, this is very risky and we advise that you check this detail before placing an order with any company.

We make delivery by HI-AB for your convenience. All packages are then lifted from the flat bed and delivered kerbside at your chosen delivery address. Unlike other cabin companies we do not expect you to assist in the unloading of the goods. It is important that the driver has enough room, not only to access the site, but also sufficient clearance to manoeuvre the lifting equipment and off-load the goods. If the driver feel it’s is unsafe to off-load the goods they are able to abort delivery and return to the depot with the load. In the event of non-delivery you may be charged storage and re-delivery costs.

Our helpful and friendly drivers will position the bundles in the most convenient possible location; it is not the responsibility of our driver to move the cabin into shelter, or into your garden. Our drivers are not insured to access your home; we recommend that you have a minimum of 2 people, capable of lifting heavy loads, available at the time of delivery to assist in moving the goods to your installation destination, or a safe storage area. If you would like us to provide labour to move the cabin for you please contact us and we will provide a quotation. We do not accept any responsibility for loss, theft or damage to the goods once they have been off-loaded.

It is your responsibility, or that of your designated agent, to inspect the goods on arrival. Any discrepancies should originally be addressed to the driver; if damage is not reported on delivery it can result in delays in dealing with the investigation and may prevent the matter being resolved to your satisfaction. In the event that goods are not checked it is of upmost importance that you sign the delivery note ‘unchecked’. If it becomes apparent after delivery that the goods are damaged you have 24 hours to report the fault to us by phone, we will still investigate the damage but cannot guarantee indemnification. Any damaged goods must also be reported to us in writing with supporting photographic evidence within 7 days.

Although the cabins are an outdoor product it is the responsibility of the buyer to treat the timber, or keep it protected from bad weather until treated. Packaging used for delivery is designed to be temporary and may not provide adequate protection from the elements. We recommend that you cover the bundles for the time they are laid dormant waiting to be fitted.

INSTALLATION

All our cabins are designed for ease of use and durability and are constructed from high quality materials.

We find that many of our customers like to build the cabins themselves; this can be done in most cases with only 2 people and some general household tools. Assembly drawings and component specifications are included within the shipment of each cabin. Scale drawings of each component, including measurements and separate assembly drawings for each wall are all included, along with all component codes meaning that there is little or no chance of making a mistake, or installing the incorrect components in the wrong places. All fixings are included within the cabin price; no further hardware should be required. All hardware is hot dip galvanized ensuring that they are long lasting and durable whilst also guarding against rust.

If you are not a DIY enthusiast or are simply too busy to have the time then our team of friendly and professional installers are available for your convenience.

Our teams of installers have much experience in construction of timber buildings and will erect the build in your place of choice. If you have placed an order including roof coverings, insulation, guttering or the addition of a veranda, these will all be fitted within the cabin construction price.

You will need to provide some of the basics, such as a suitable base, safe access to site and somewhere that the materials can be stored whilst assembly is taking place. Our installers will require somewhere to park their vehicle whilst working at your premises, please advise us at the time of booking if parking is likely to be a problem.

The base for your cabin should be at least 100mm bigger than the final construction. It can be a foundation constructed in various ways, from a concrete pad or plints, paving, timber, breeze blocks, decking or sleepers, it is highly recommended that a concrete base is laid to prevent restriction being applied to the manufacturers guarentee, it is also wise to chamfer the edges which will sit beyond the cabin, so not water can remain on the surface. The importance is that you provide a solid, level and flat base, ideally this should be at least 50mm above ground level to deter damp. Although the foundation beams and floor joists are impregnated to protect from damp the provision of damp proofing should be considered.

A more detailed list of requirements is available and will be sent out to all customers requesting our installation service.

You will not necessarily need to be home for the date of installation, as long as our fitters can gain access. We do ask that you are present once the building is assembled, as our Senior Installer will inspect the building with you and then issue you with a Completion Certificate, stating that the building has been assembled and finished correctly. They will also run over with you instructions on the initial treatment of the building, how to adjust doors and windows if necessary and how to look after it to ensure that it remains looking great and in good condition (see After Care for further information).

Whether you decide to erect the cabin yourself, or use of professional fitters, we instruct that the cabin is installed within 7 days of delivery and protected from rain and damp weather until installed. Failure to erect the building in a timely manner may result in the wood twisting, bowing or swelling. The timber used in the manufacture of the cabins are dried and stored in carefully monitored conditions, although they are build for outdoor use they do require weatherproof treatments. Until treatment is applied there is a risk that the timbers may change due to the variation in atmosphere. We can provide a quotation for timber treatment if required, please contact us if you would like to discuss this in more detail.
